Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young. You can do anything if you have enthusiasmEnthusiasm is at the bottom of all progress. With it, there is accomplishment. Without it, there are only alibis

Personal Life
Henry Ford, born July 30, 1863, was the first of William and Mary Ford's six children.
He grew up on a prosperous family farm in what is today Dearborn, Michigan. In 1879, sixteen-year-old Ford left home for the nearby city of Detroit to work as an apprentice machinist.

During the next few years, Henry divided his time between operating and repairing steam engines, finding occasional work in a Detroit factory

In 1891, Ford became an engineer with the Edison Illuminating Company in Detroit.
His promotion to Chief Engineer in 1893 gave him enough time and money to devote attention to his personal experiments on internal combustion engines. The experiments culminated in 1896 with the completion of his own self-propelled vehicle-the Quadricycle. Although Ford was not the first to build a self-propelled vehicle with a gasoline engine, but was one of the automotive pioneers who made the U.S a nation of motorists
The Quadricycle had four wire wheels that looked like heavy bicycle wheels, was steered with a tiller like a boat, and had only two forward speeds with no reverse

IF THERE WERE NO CARS !!!!

There would be no lying about your age for a license. There would be no romancing in the back seat There would be no eyes meeting in the review mirror. There would be no forgetting your keys inside the car. There would be no new car smell There would be no driving off into the sunset. There would be no 0 to 60. There would be no running out of gas on a dark rainy night. There would be no women drivers

Ford Motor Company

Make Every Day Exciting

After two unsuccessful attempts to establish a company to manufacture automobiles, the Ford Motor Company was incorporated in 1903 with Henry Ford as vice-president and chief engineer. Groups of two or three men worked on each car from components made to order by other companies.

Henry Ford realized his dream of producing an automobile that was reasonably priced, reliable, and efficient with the introduction of the Model T in 1908.

Moving Assembly Line ???

Henry Ford also revolutionized the process of industrial production. The car was built on an assembly line. Workers remained in place, adding one component to each automobile as it moved past them on the line. Delivery of parts by conveyor belt to the workers was carefully timed to keep the assembly line moving smoothly and efficiently.

Model T was rolling off Fords assembly lines at the rate of one every 24 seconds.

MODEL T a car that revolutionized the automotive industry.

In 1908 the Ford Company initiated production of the celebrated Model T. This vehicle initiated a new era in personal transportation. It was easy to operate, maintain, and handle on rough roads, immediately becoming a huge success. The automobile became the main prop of the American economy and a stimulant to urbanization--cities spread outward, creating suburbs and housing developments--and to the building of the finest highway system in the world.

EARLY STRATEGIES STILL RECOGNIZED TODAY

Innovative technology. Replacement of men by machines. Constant search for new quality measures. Constant cost cutting through factory re-design. Passing on the cost reductions to the customers in the form of reduced prices (for the Model T car).

Ford
Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success. A business that makes nothing but money is a poor kind of business. The best we can do is size up the chances, calculate the risks involved, estimate our ability to deal with them, and then make our plans with confidence. Even a mistake may turn out to be the one thing necessary to a worthwhile achievement.

Management Process
