Notes from Christ the Healer

To have compassion is to love tenderly, to pity, to show mercy, to be full of eager yearning. In our revivals, I have seen faith rise "mountain high" when the truth of God's present love and compassion began to dawn on the minds and hearts of the people. It is not what God can do, but what we know He yearns to do, that inspires faith. Gods compassionate heart was unveiled via Christ healing of the sick i.e. miracles Modern theology magnifies Gods power more than his love maybe because many of us dont know what it means to be loved by our fathers. It was a fact of life to recognize our fathers power over us i.e. his authority, his right to repriman d us, to mold us, teach us and set us straight but what about his love towards us? Did we just see ourselves as his responsibility or did we see ourselves as his treasures? Could we bank on his love regardless of our mistakes or even outright rebellion? What if his way of loving us was by providing for us, molding us, reprimanding us, teaching us? Could that be considered enough? How do we show love to our children are they confident in our love for them? Or have we positioned ourselves as teachers, molders, reprimanders? Could that be enough for them? The bible actually magnifies Gods love towards us much more than his power (which we all know is magnificent), yet his love supersedes his power. In no place does the Bible say that "God is Power," but it does say that "God is love." It is not faith in God's power that secures His blessings, but faith in His love and in His will. The Lord is gracious implies that he is disposed to show favors. Our belief that he is able must be enhanced with our understanding that he is willing also, and he is gracious too. Declare daily that The Lord is able, The Lord is willing, The Lord is gracious Micah 7:18 he delighteth in mercy 2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong, in the behalf of those whose heart is perfect towards him. i.e he is eager and ever hunting for opportunities to pour his blessing on those who make it possible for him to do so

Benevolence is the great attribute of God. If you want to please Him, remove the obstacles out of the way of the exercise of His benevolence. Start by placing yourself where Gods mercy can reach you without him violating the glorious principles of His moral government - Not only is God able, but He is also willing to do "exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think." It seems to me that God would rather have us doubt His ability than His willingness be overlooked and set aside in this "better" age? Christ has opened the way for the fullest possible manifestations of His mercy toward every phase of human need. Faith begins where the will of God is known. Faith must rest on the will of God alone, not on our desires or wishes. Those who claim to believe in healing, but say one word in favor of it and ten words against it, cannot produce faith for healing. There can be no appropriation by faith until we are made to know by the Gospel what God has provided for us. Exodus 23:25-26 (NIV) 25 Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, 26 and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.
