• The calm river near my home.
– The use of “dangerous” or “calm” definitely changes the
feeling of the story.

help your story to sound more natural, and it will
upgrade your level of writing.

The Secret Teddy Bear
Just down the street from my apartment in
Cheonan was a small boxing club, and it was called
UP Boxing Club. It was May of 2009, and a handsome
boxer I didn’t know had arrived for training. His name
was Kim Young Bin. He was a tall, good-looking guy,
but I was afraid and so nervous to talk to him because
my friends told me nasty rumors about him. Some
people said he was a street fighter, and others said he
was in a gang. I felt so uncomfortable training beside
him, but I was curious about him. Then one late
evening he called me, and he said he wanted to take
me out for a walk. I met up with him a couple of days
later. After I started to date him, I realized that he was
just a big teddy bear, and I felt relieved and happy to
meet such a sweet guy. We’ve been a couple ever
since.
