GREENHOUSE EFFECT

OUTLINES:
INTRODUCTION CAUSES GREENHOUSE GASES HOW ENVIROMENT IS INFLUENCED BY GREENHOUSE EFFECT PRECAUTIONS ANALYSIS

INTRODUCTION:
The sunrays enter the earths atmosphere which is made up of several layers of gases and reach the planet Earth, the earths surface i.e. land, water and biosphere absorb the solar energy. Once absorbed this energy get recycled into the atmosphere.

MAJOR CAUSES
Deforestation Increasing population Burning fuel Industrial CO2 production Nuclear reactor Inconsiderable Urbanization

DEFORESTATION:
Plant destruction in a large scale.

INCREASING POPULATION:
Human produce a large CO2

BURNING FUEL:
Burning of petrol, diesel, coal, octane and kerosene are responsible for the production of CO2.

INDUSTRIAL CO2 PRODUCTION:

Combustion of fossil fuels Petroleum distillation e.g. CH4+2O2 CO2+2H2O

NUCLEAR REACTOR:
In the process of cement manufacturing CO2 drive off . CaCO3 CaO + CO2

INCONSIDERABLE URBANIZATION:
Built infrastructure without planning cause production of CO2 in vast scale.

GREENHOUSE GASES
CO2, CH4, N2O, Natural gas and Oil, fuel and coal, and major one is water vapor are the gases present in atmosphere, trap energy from the sun and prevent the heat from escaping back into the space. Through some of the energy passes back into the space, most of it remains trapped in the atmosphere causes the earth heat up.

CO2:
Source: Fossil fuel burning Deforestation RESIDENCE TIME: Average 500 years.

CH4:
Source: Rice cultivation Cattle and sheep ranching Decay from landfills Mining RESIDENCE TIME:

Average 7 to 10 years.

N2O:
Source: Industries Agricultural fertilizers

RESIDENCE TIME: Average 140 to 190

years.

Water vapor:
Source:
Evaporation

INFLUENCE ON ENVIRONMENT
Temperature of the world is highly increased. Extended temperature cause: Melting ice Increasing sea level Ecological imbalance Human health hazards Total environment pollution

Melting ice:
Global warming caused ice melting down in a large scale.

Increasing sea level:

Low laying areas are in a great threat of going under water.

Ecological imbalance:
Plant grow in suitable area and temperature because of high temperature total ecological system is hampered.

Human health hazards:

Health of human beings are in high mortality rate and increasing infection diseases.

Total environment pollution:

Air pollution, noise pollution, thermal pollution, radioactive contamination, water pollution (industrial waste). So, total environment is in a high risk.

What can we do to reduce greenhouse emissions?

Reuse

Reduce

Recycle

EDUCATE AND USE

Wind power

Solar power

Fuel efficient Vehicle

Compact fluorescent

CONCLUSION
Greenhouse gases as sort of a blanket for infrared radiation. They keep the earths surface and lower layers of the atmosphere warmer and the upper layers colder. Natural green house effect that keeps the Earths climate warmer and habitable. These greenhouse gases are present naturally, but human activity is increasing their concentration.
