Typical CFBC Boiler

Typical CFBC Boiler

Design Features of CVPLs CFBC Boiler

Gas tight Water cooled membrane wall construction for furnace Lower Combustor with Refractory lining Water cooled hot cyclone separator with inside refractory lining Entire recirculation loop i.e., Return leg, Loop Seal & Down Chute are made of membrane Panel with refractory lining Elimination of maintenance prone expansion joints at the inlet of Cyclone, inlet & outlet of Loop Seal

Design Features of CVPLs CFBC Boiler

The Convective heat transfer banks such as Super heater & Economizer are located in downstream of Cyclone separator to avoid erosion Wing wall heat transfer surface is provided in the upper furnace to balance the heat pick-up between Evaporator and Super heater, if required Specially designed non-mechanical Loop Seal

Non-mechanical flow control device for regulation of bed ash removal

ADVANTAGES OF CFBC OVER AFBC

Higher boiler efficiency Higher combustion efficiency Compact arrangement Adaptability for high capacity utility boilers Suitable for firing low grade fuels Effective sulphur retention Eco-friendly with low air pollution Less fuel feed points results in simple arrangement Fuel flexibility Better Turndown ratio No Bed Coil and Bed Super heater Coil and hence Less Maintenance and higher availability.

ADVANTAGES OF CFBC OVER PC FIRED BOILER

High fuel flexibility Accepts low grade fuel with high ash content Accepts higher fuel size (up to 12 mm) No milling plant and related maintenance Effective Sulphur retention (up to 97%)with limestone addition under optimum condition. No FGD for Sulphur retention Low Nox emission due to low furnace temperature and staged combustion Oil firing is required only for start-up

SOx AND NOx CONTROL

Lower Sox emission due to

Lower Nox emission due to -

Higher recirculation of sorbant Higher volume of fluidized bed Higher turbulence in the bed Finer sorbant particle Better interaction of sorbant with air / sulphur

Low furnace operating temperature Staged combustion (Primary and Secondary air introduced in combustor at different elevation)

Grid Nozzles

Refractory Lining Protects Furnace Separator Tubes

Thin Studded Refractory Lining Provides: Reduced Weight Reduced Maintenance Studs Stabilize Refractory Cooler Refractory Reduces Erosion Rates

Furnace Tube Design Eliminates Erosion
