Venod Sharma About Us
Born on January 10, 1948 at Doraha, a city in
Ludhiana district of Punjab.
Son of Pandit Kedar Nath Sharma, worked for the
third Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.
Kedar Nath Sharma served as the Vice President of
Punjab Congress Committee as well as the President
of the Chandigarh UT Congress Committee.
His family has worked with Congress for a long
duration.

Venod Sharma Social Worker
Actively got involved with the social cause of women
empowerment in different ways, post his graduation
from Chandigarh.
A Brahmin leader, Venod belongs to a family with
roots from Punjab and Chandigarh.
Enjoys considerable Brahmin support in Haryana,
and is considered as the undisputed leader of
Brahmins and Upper castes in Haryana and Punjab.

Venod Sharma Political Career
Has been associated with Ambala region for more
than four decades.
Had an affiliation of more than 40 years with the
Congress party, before leaving it in March 2014.
Served as Minister of State in the Ministry of Civil
Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution
in the P.V. Narasimha Rao cabinet (inducted in
1995).
Has been the Member of Parliament from Rajya
Sabha and MLA from Haryana twice and Punjab
once.

Venod Sharma Political Career
Got elected as MLA from Banur, Punjab in 1980 and
from Ambala City in 2005 and 2009.
Was minister in the first term of Bhupender Singh
Hooda government.

Political Career Recent Past
Since January 2014, was keeping distance from Congress
affairs.
Realized that Congress had lost its connect with the
masses and had become arrogant.
Raised voice against ill practices. Finally, on March 5,
2014, he left Congress.
In May 2014, he resigned from the post of MLA of
Ambala city, which he won as a Congress candidate.
From May 2014, started touring different constituencies
of Haryana and inaugurated Lok Seva Panchayat offices.
Plans to launch his party and fight forthcoming Haryana
Assembly elections.

Venod Sharma Social Activist
Venod Sharma & his family have been involved in
many NGO activities like Health camps, Blood
donation drives, Eye check-ups in Ambala region
under the aegis of Ambala Healthcare & Welfare
Society.
Involved in many philanthropic, education activities
across Haryana.
Working for empowerment, development of women
and known for fighting for the cause of the poor.
An avid cricket fan and has done a lot in developing
the sport and it's prospects in Ambala.
