Techniques Involved

1. Resource estimation
Resource estimation is a structured prediction of the cost and other
resources required to execute a task. One of the primary functions of the
process is to establish a control basis. Therefore the more accurate the
estimation, the more reliable the control system becomes.

2. Resource Allocation:
It is the scheduling of activities and the resources required by those
activities while taking into consideration both the resource availability
and the project time.

3. Resource leveling

Resource levelling is the process that ensures resource demand
does not exceed resource availability and vice versa.

Resource leveling deals with both time (starting and ending date)
and resources, including manpower and budget.

It tries to balance the conflicting interests of projects with the
available resources.

5. To correct a delay error, project manager can assign aditional
resources to the task to get back on schedule this is known as
crashing,
4. Resource Loading
It mainly involves manpower or employees. Each employee
is assigned a task for a particular time limit and he cannot
take on any additional work.
With resource loading, a project manager can predict an
employee's hours for the year and see how tasks can be
assigned. This also allows the project manager to decide
whether or not additional employees or contractors are
needed to complete the scheduled projects
