Components of
physical health
examination
Definition
Screening The widespread use of a simple test for disease in an
apparently healthy (asymptomatic) population. It will
not diagnose the presence of disease directly but will
separate people who are more likely to have the disease
from those who are less likely to have it.

Counseling the act of providing guidance to a patient or the patient's
family.
Immunization a technique used to induce an immune response to a
specific disease in humans by exposing the individual to
an antigen in order to raise antibodies to that antigen.

Chemoprophylaxis administration of a medicine or chemical agent with the
purpose of disease prevention
