Sunspot Cycle and Economic Depressio
n There was a rather strong connection betw een major recession and the peaks of the s unspot cycles. There was one major except ion, the last Great Depression, the bottom o f which (1933) can be seen in the trough bet ween sunspot peaks. The collapse of the st ock market, however, paralleled right on th e peak of the solar cycle in late 1929.
Is there a correlation between sunspot cycle and Dow Jones I
ndustrial?
Not really, the only direct connection that a
ppears is as a breaking signal. During the sunspot peak, the speculative Bull Run bub bles in stock break and an economic reces sion begins fairly soon thereafter. This ofte n leaves the stock prices headed down even while sunspots are still rising. This destroys any statistical averages which can be used f or prediction.

Sunspot and Soybean Price
If the sunspot cycle does affect the weath er and in turn how well soybean grows th en we would expect the variations to be g o beyond optimum condition in two direc tions (be it too hot and too cold or too we t and too dry) and therefore in one sunsp ot cycle there would be two cycles in soyb ean growth.
