BLOCK DESCRIPTION
RedTacton is a Human Area Networking

technology that uses human body as a

safe high speed network transmission
path.
In
Redtacton
based
authentication
system,
Redtacton
transmitter
is
interfaced to the human body.
DTMF technology is used in both
Redtacton transmitter and receiver.

is placed at the entrance of the

ATM to sense the arrival of any intruder.

IR based sensor system

It uses invisible light beam as a barrier and consists of

a IR Transmitter and a IR Receiver.

IR Transmitter is placed at one side of the gate and the

IR Receiver is placed on the opposite side.

The IR transmitter transmits an invisible modulated

(38 KHz) IR light beam pointing towards the IR receiver

unit.
It consists of a 38 KHz oscillator and IR Light Emitting

Diode and Sensor section consists of 3-terminal IR

Sensors.
.

Door Open Sensor are used to sense when

anybody tries to forcibly open the door.

It consists of a magnetic reed switch mounted
on the frame and a bar magnet mounted on the
door.
They are mounted such that when the door is in
closed position, the magnet and the reed
switches are in close contact and the switch
remains closed.
When the door is opened, they move away from
each other and the switch opens. This sends a
signal to the microcontroller.

Geared DC Drive Motor is a secret door

mechanism is implemented to capture the

thief when he has entered into the premises,
using bi-directional geared DC motors.
These are miniature DC motors working on
unregulated 12V DC Supply.
Hence they are suitable for battery operation.
They can rotate in either direction to drive the
robotic vehicles wheels also, to move it into
required position or direction.

Buzzer and buzzer driver circuit: -

whenever any abnormality is sensed by the

microcontroller in communicating with various
nodes in the network, an audio tone is
produced by a buzzer.
The buzzer is sounded when it finds an
abnormality. the microcontroller controls the
sound produced by buzzer through a drive
transistor.
It supplies current to the buzzer element
connected in its collector.

Matrix Keyboard: - When the authorized

person wants to enter into the premises, he/she

has to enter their password in order for the
system to recognize them.
The user interaction is through the Hex keypad.
This keyboard is used to receive password and
device status required for various nodes.
A 4 x 4 matrix keypad is constructed using 16
soft tactile switches.
The microcontroller scans the keyboard to find
out the key pressed and receives the code for
the particular key pressed and uses it for further
processing.

LCD Display Unit:-The LCD display module

is used for displaying various prompts and

status information of the system.
It is also used display the title messages and
other messages while communicating with the
nodes on the network.
A 2-line, 16 character type LCD display
module is used, the microcontroller sends the
signals to LCD module through its port pins.
The LCD can be interfaced on 6 pins of any
port since 4-bit interface mode is used here.
The microcontroller communicates with the
LCD module through ASCII codes.

Power supply section: - Power supply

section has to provide a regulated D.C supply

to all sections of the system.
It consists of a step-down transformer,
rectifiers, filters and regulators.
The Sensor section, microcontroller, display
sections, require a +5V regulated power
supply.
Motors and its drive circuits works on +12V.
All these power supply requirements are met
with the help of power supply section.
