It is person-to-person contact, it includes everyday


exchange that may be formal or informal and can take
place anywhere by means of words, sounds, facial
expression, gestures and postures.

Interpersonal communication is the humans ability to


turn meaningless words into spoken and written words,
through which they are able to make known their needs,
wants, ideas and feelings

Interpersonal Communication is a two way process where


the speaker says something and the listener receives
something.
However, effective communication ensures that the
receiver gets just the message that the sender intends to
give and then respond to it.

There are seven element of Interpersonal


Communication:
1.Sender Person who sends information.
2.Coding Act of putting meaning into verbal and
nonverbal messages.
3.Message Content of information sent by sender.
4.Decoding Deriving meaning from the messages
you receive from others.
5.Receiver Person who receives the information
sent.
6.Feedback Response from receiver.
7.Channel The medium through which message
pass.

We cannot be human alone. We live in a world filled with


other people.
We need each other for security, comfort, friendship and
love.
We need each other to mature through dialogue.
We need each other to achieve our goals and objectives.
Interpersonal communication is very helpful in work
place where we need to interact with different types of
people.
Interpersonal communication skills are also known as life
skills.

Two types of Interpersonal Communication:


Verbal Communication

You can modify or correct yourself.


Avoid Generalization, It specific.

Non-Verbal Communication

Use of pictures and symbols.


No chance of correction.

simply hearing the words spoken.
