INTRODUCTION

The resort is built in the old Portuguese style with high ceilings and
large chandeliers. The reception area leads down steps to an indoor
pool with fabulous views of the large lawn which in turn leads to the
outdoor swimming pool with its sun beds and coconut trees. The resort
is spread over 20 acres of lush green landscape.

spread over 22 acres of lush green landscape, with luxurious

Each of these rooms offer a private balcony from where one can feast
his/her eyes on spectacular breathtaking views of either the ocean or

The rooms have individually controlled air-conditioning, luxurious

Since architecture mirrors local material culture, and there had been
little change in that culture for centuries, Goan architecture remained
relatively static until the1960s.

Simple plans, functional design..

The prototype school, rectangular with a small verandah, used hollowblock walls, operable glass louvers, and a reinforced cement concrete
roof; a mural of glazed blue decorative tiles flanked the entrance. The
simple chapel plan featured a steeply sloping reinforced cement concrete
roof slab over hollow-block walls with pre-cast grilles for light
andventilation.

Buildings influenced by Le Corbusier have

elevational treatment and structures for

With storied blocks coming up, sloping
mangalore-tiled roofs gave way to flat
reinforced cement concrete slab-terraced roofs.
