Pre-Reading Assignment
Scene 1

Write a scene with the following characters:.


THREE FORTUNETELLERS Creepy, manipulative
ladies who are gypsies

PLACE an open field next to a carnival, during a


storm.
SCENE Three fortunetellers who always rhyme
tell the future. They prophesize two things: that the
war with Iraq will end and that they will meet the
U.S. Commander of the Allied Forces (named Mark).
Use standard scriptwriting format.
The three fortunetellers must have at least five (5)
lines that are eight (8) words in length and must
CONSTANTLY rhyme.
Give each fortuneteller one stage direction.

Scene 2

Write a scene with the following characters.


DAN U.S. President
MALCOLM Presidents son and military advisor
CAPTAIN nameless U.S. army captain

PLACE in a command tent in the deserts of Iraq.


SCENE Dan and Malcolm are talking when a captain, recently
bloodied from battle, arrives breathless. The captain tells Dan that
Saddam Hussein has been killed! It was during a battle where it
seemed all was lost at one point. But then, he describes in great
detail the bloody events that took place as Mark, the U.S.
Commander of the Allied Forces, personally captured Hussein.
Don proclaims Hussein dead and Mark the new Governor of Iraq.
Use standard scriptwriting format.
Each character must have at least five (5) lines that contain eight
(8) words each and one stage direction. THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS
MARK WHO IS NOT PRESENT IN THE SCENE BUT DISCUSSED BY
THE CHARACTERS IN THE SCENE.
