BACKROUND
Sayer Marks Systems, Inc. was a large personal computer
retailer based in Framingham, Massachusetts.
Merged with MicroWorld and Sayer Information
Technologies to create Sayer MicroWorld.
Acquisition of MicroWorld was a controversial and was
suffering financial losses (>$120 million in the past 5
years)
James Vesterman(chairman) implemented cost cutting
measures to make MicroWorld profitable within 12 months
also laid off 16% of the merged companies employees.

BACKROUND
