What is the relationship between JOY and
Fear especially Great Joy of God.

Luke 2: 10
Then the angel said to them,
"Do not be afraid, for behold, I
bring you good tidings of great
joy which will be to all people.

JOY AND FEAR


What is joy? It is defined by the
Encarta dictionary as Great
Happiness.
Great joy could then be said to be
great great happiness though that
will be grammatically wrong and
classified as tautology but that is
the real meaning of great joy.
What is FEAR?
Fear mean any of the
following
Feeling of anxiety/worry
Frightening thought (Gen.
32:11)
Reverence/Respect for God
(Gen. 20:11)

The relationship (Ex.
20:20)
Fear is the survival instinct that
God put in man to protect him
from evil. By natural instinct, fear
makes us to run away from what is
capable to injure us or fight such
thing or situation.
This is what is called the Fight or
Flight response to fear.

Why should the great joy of God
cause man fear.
It is great joy because it is
given to those who are least
qualified and thus least
expect it.

The angel was not sent to the
chief priests or the elders (they
were not prepared to receive
these tidings), but to a company
of poor shepherds, who were like
Jacob, plain men dwelling in
tents, not like Esau, cunning
hunters.

When you see what is unusual
you will be terrified, when you
hear what is unusual you will be
terrified. Terror grips us when we
come in contact with anything or
one outside our world.

We all desire the Divine visitation but
who can see God and live?
Moses longed for the face of God but
he experience Gods goodness Ex.
33:19 20
Elijah was visited and he experienced
fire, earthquake before Gods still
small voice. I Kings 19:11 13

Elijah was in a state of perplexity.
He longed for the voice of God, he
wanted answers for his situation,
he desired joy in place of sorrow.
And when God visited him he was
terrified.

Our joy is magnified when it is
beyond our expectation
Great is the wonders of God that we
see every day with the breaking of
the day and the setting of the sun
but we are used to them and we are
not terrified by them.

But when a worker praying for miracle
of wealth is sacked in his employment
fear of poverty will grip him not
knowing it is the visitation of God to
transform his life. But when he starts
a small business for survival and the
business grew in his hands to become
a wealth well, he will greatly rejoice..

When a woman termed barren is pushed
out of her marriage by the husband she
loved and she receives a B. A. degree
without going to university to Begin Again.
She is terrified and the hope of getting a
baby is shattered until God connects her
with the bone of her bone and flesh of her
flesh and she becomes mother of many
children
.

Determine your
Fear is theresponse
natural instinct, fear
makes us to run away from what is
capable to injure us or fight such
thing or situation. However that is
when it is capable of hurting us. We
need to look into the situation to
know whether it calls for fight/flight
or it is calling for the worship of God.
Luke 2: 10
Then the angel said to them,
"Do not be afraid, for

behold, I bring you


good tidings of great joy which
will be to all people.

you this month. See what His minister
is showing you. BEHOLD. Look very well
and see that God is working something
wonderful out for you in your situation.
You may not think that you capable or
qualified, remember the shepherds were
those that got the privilege not the
priests.

your response. Do not fill
your heart with negative thoughts but
rather begin to expect something
wonderful and worship God for His
kindness to you and people around
you.
Determine to serve and worship God
with renew commitment because God
is good and great is His faithfulness.
