London is the capital
city of England.Its

England ,on the river
Thames.

million people live
here and millions of
tourist visit the city
every year.
QUEEN ELIZABETH II
The second longest
reigning monarch
after her great great
grandmother.
Queen Elizabeth II
was born in London in
1926.
She married Duke of
Edinburgh in 1947 and
became queen in 1952.
BUCKINGHAM PALACE
This is Buckingham
Palace.The queen
lives here when she
is in London.The
palace has got 600
rooms but the queen
only lives in twelve
of them.
GUARDS
Many guards protect
the palace.They are
famous for the hats
they wear.At half
past eleven every
day, you can watch a
ceremony called
The changing of the
guards.
TOWER OF LONDON

This historic castle


and old prison is the
house of the Crown
Jewels of the
United Kingdom.

They are ceremonial
guardians of the Tower
of London.At first, they
are responsible for
looking after any
prisioners at the Tower
and safeguarding the
British Crown Jewels,
but in practice they act
as tour guides.
WESTMINSTER ABBEY
This is where the
kings and queens get
crowned and the
Royal Family get
married.
LONDON EYE
This is the London Eye.
Its an enormous
observation wheel next
to the river Thames. It
s 135 metres tall.
People go on the London
Eye to see the
incredible views of
London.
The wheel takes 30
minutes to turn 360.
BIG BEN
This is the Big Ben.The
tower is 96 metres
tall.The clock has got
four faces,so you can
see the time from all
directions.
Everyone calls the clock
Big Ben.The name refers
to the bell inside the
clock. You can hear the
bell every hour.
TRAFALGAR SQUARE
Its a public space
and tourist
attraction in central
London.At its centre
is Nelsons Column
which is guarded by
four lions statues at
its base.
NATIONAL GALLERY

Its an art museum


on Trafalgar
Square.
SAINT PAULS CATHEDRAL
Important services
held at Saint Pauls
include the funerals of
Lord Nelson,
Churchill;jubilee
celebrations for queen
Victoria and the
wedding of prince of
Wales and Lady Diana.
TOWER BRIDGE
Its the most
famous bridge in
London.This bridge
goes across the
River Thames.It
opens when big boats
go down the river.
HYDE PARK
It is one of the
largest park in
central
London,famous for
its speakers
corner.
