Each student will write a journal entry on what they did on their weekend.
In this activity I will explain each week what I expect to see in their entry

The purpose of this exercise is show ones progress throughout the
semester.
A journal entry will be completed once a week, in order to aid a students
ability to write and comprehend the English language.
Time
20-25 minutes
o5-10 minutes of instruction and explanation (also for any
questions)
o15-20 minutes of writing
o Make time at the end of class for them to finish if needed.

W.8.3 Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using
effective technique, relevant descriptive details, and well-structured event
sequences.*
o* I could not find any standards for ESL teachers, they will differ since I want
to teach abroad, this was the closest standard I could find that pertained to this
activity.

Journals will be collected every week and graded.
For each students entry I will provide corrections (grammar, punctuation,
spelling)
