Lesson Title: Seasons
Time Needed: 45 min.
Standard:
4. Earth and space Systems Understand Scientific Theories of Origin and Subsequent Changes in the Universe and Earth Systems.
Objectives:
Students will be able to identify the four seasons and their characteristics.
Materials needed:
Seasons PowerPoint presentation
The Four Seasons - book
Seasons Coloring Pages
Blank Sheets for Coloring
Pencils, Crayons, Markers
Classroom library stocked with books about seasons
Discussion/PowerPoint (15-20 min):
1. Read the book titled The Four Seasons
2. Ask students if they have a favorite season and why
3. Go through PowerPoint presentation, asking questions and discussing the different characteristics of each season.
Activity/Check for Understanding (20-25 min approx. 10 minutes per season): Ask students to draw a picture (or select a
coloring sheet) for two of their favorite seasons that shows what they like about that season. Students will have to show the picture
to the teacher and talk about what season it showing. Students will hang each of their pictures on the correct Season Wall in the
classroom.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT EACH SEASON

As a class we will create a wall of pictures for each season.

Each student should draw or color a picture showing something they like
about each of the four seasons. The picture can show the weather, a holiday,
what the plants and/or animals do, or something you like to do with your
friends or family during the season.
