1. Reward Power : influencers ability to administer
rewards to the influencee.
2. Coercive Power: influencers ability to inflict
punishment to the influencee.
3. Expert Power: influencers specific knowledge or skills
that the influencee does not have.
4. Referent Power: desire of the influencee to be like or
identify with the influencer.
5. Information Power: influencers capacity to access
information for which the influencee does not have an
access.
6. Legitimate Power/Authority: influencers lawful right
to influence the influencee
Positional vs Personal Power
based on formal authority - positional powers
based on personal qualities and traits - personal powers.
