STEP BY STEP FOR

EXCEL IMPORT
IN
RTUtil NT SOFTWARE
STEP - 1
First create the pattern file in RTUtil NT
software according to Hardware
configuration requirement and save as in
Pattern folder.
Create pattern file considering network tree
required as per IEC 101 protocol.
Put Link Address and ASDU address as per given from SCADA.
Create the Hardware tree as per RTU configuration.
Signal tree should be empty.
Save file as station name in Patterns folder as shown.

STEP - 2
Create an EXCEL import file as per wiring
schedule and hardware configuration
details.
In EXCEL import file Signals contains with
all DI (SPI & DPI), AI (AMI) and AO
(ASO).
RTU Hardware address has to be filled up as per
Control wiring schedule in Signals for DCO.
RTU Hardware address has to be filled up as per DI
wiring schedule in Signals for DPI.
RTU Hardware address has to be filled up as per DI
wiring schedule in Signals for SPI.
RTU Hardware address has to be filled up as per
Analog wiring schedule in Signals for AMI.
RTU Hardware address has to be filled up as per
Analog Control wiring schedule in Signals for ASO.
STEP - 3
Save Excel file after completion in EXCEL
import folder of RTUtil NT.

Open RTUtil pattern file for that particular


station and do the procedure as follows :
Save Excel Import file in xls_import folder.
Save with the station file and revision no.
Go to Project - Settings..
Object ID string in Project string should match with
Process object identification characters.
This characters should match with Station
& subnet characters string.
This Station & subnet characters string
should match with RTUtil NT Signal tree
string as per shown in earlier slide.
Select RTU name in Initialize Excel Interface
and click on Start Initialization.
Browse excel file for import from xls import
folder and click on Next.
Excel sheet has to be assigned in this Screen.
Enter Signals sheet prepared in Excel sheet. Column ID
row for Signals start with 8. Click on Next.
Column ID row for Local IO start with 8
Enter in Excel Column for ASDU address, Information
Object and sub-parameter required for IEC 101 line.
This column name
can be viewed in
Singals of Excel
Import file.

Enter Excel Column for ASDU address, Information


Object and sub-parameter required for IEC 101
Vers_CNCR line as shown and click on next.
Enter Excel Column for ASDU address, Information
Object and sub-parameter required for IEC 101
Vers_CNC line as shown and click on next.
Click on Finish if all is O.K.
Click on O.K. as confirming Green
Indication at Station Name.
Go, to Extra and Click on Excel Import
Click on Next.
Click on Next.
Browse the import file from specified folder and
click on next.
Browse the import file from specified folder and

Click on Next.
Select Signals sheet from available Excel sheets
and click on Arrow to move file in Selected Excel
Sheets. Then click on Next.
Click on Start to start the import process.
Message will come for Successful import.
Check with error which will be logged in
Import folder. Click on Finish.
Signal Tree can be viewed with list of
signals.
Hardware Tree can be viewed with full of
signals with data entered in Excel sheet.
Hardware Tree can be viewed with full of
signals (DPI, SPI, AMI, ASO ) with data
entered in Excel sheet.
STEP - 4
Check for errors and rectifies in EXCEL
import file and do the same procedure to
create final file.
Built the project and create log files ( iod,
gcd and ptx )
Upload the files in RTU by powering on
and view the data according to the
configuration.
