clothing. Rich materials were used to design royal cloths from Gujarat and Varanasi, and

Bandhej Saree:- Bandhej Saree which is also known as
"Bandhani Saree" is specially found in Rajasthan .The fine variety
of this type of saree is created in Mandavi, Bhuj, Kutch, Jamnagar,
Porbandar, Rajkot, Udaipur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner etc. The
Bandhani work has been exclusively carried out by the Khatri
community of Kutchh and Saurashtra.
A meter length of cloth can have thousands of tiny knots known
as 'Bheendi' in the local language ('Gujarati'). These knots form a
design once opened after dyeing in bright colours. Traditionally,
Bandhej Saree the final products can be classified into 'khombhi', 'Ghar Chola',
'Chandrakhani', 'Shikari', 'Chowkidaar', 'Ambadaal' and other
categories.

Leheriya Saree:- Leheria dyeing is done on thin cotton or


silk cloth, usually in lengths appropriate for turbans or saris.
According to World Textiles: A Visual Guide to Traditional
Techniques, the fabric is "rolled diagonally from one corner to
the opposite selvedge, and then tied at the required intervals
and dyed".
Wave patterns result from fanlike folds made before dyeing.
Traditional leheria employs natural dyes and multiple washes
and uses indigo or alizarin during the final stage of
preparation.

Silk Saree:- Kota silk sarees are one of the many types of sarees
made in Kota, Rajasthan that are made in pure silk and have
square like patterns known as khats on them. Handloom kota
silk sarees were originally called Masuria because they were
woven using Mysore silk in Mysore. Kota silk saris were
primarily patronized by Maharao Bhim Singh, who summoned
the weavers from Mysore to Kota, between 1707 and 1720.
The art of using open khat patterns on fabric was so intriguing
that the entire Kota silk sarees collection was highly appreciated
by the elite. Even today, the latest Kota silk sarees exhibit
traditional ways of setting patterns, making graphs, dyeing and

embroidery that originated in Rajasthan, India. The dresses with

Lehenga In Rajasthani
The lehengas are made of a number of fabrics such as silk, cotton, khadi, georgette, crape,
net, satin, brocade and chiffon. Even though designers have successfully used the various
kinds of fabrics for making the lehenga, silk is still the preferred fabric.
There are many type of lehengas like lehenga choli, wedding lehenga etc. Lehenga,
Gagra/Ghagra (Hindi: ghghr) also chaniya is a form of skirt which is long,
embroidered and pleated. It is secured at the waist or hips and leaves the lower back and
midriff bare.
The ancient version of skirt or Ghagrievolved from Bhairnivasani, which in turn evolved
from the Antriya when stitching on one side became tabular and was worn gathered
together at the waist, and held by a girdle. This was one of the earliest forms of a clumsily
stitched skirt.
It was worn using a nada or drawstring. The Ghagri was a narrow skirt six feet long the
same length as original Antriya and can still be seen worn by Jain nuns in India. The
lehenga choli is the favourite female apparel worn during festivals, weddings or special
events in India.
This is due to traditions as well as of the fact that it is available in a number of fabrics with
many different decorative choices.[12] Traditionally the sari and the lehenga choli are the
most popular garments for the bride in India.

Ghagra choli:- Gagra choli or Ghagra choli, which is also
kngown as Lehenga choli and locally as Chaniya choli, is the
traditional clothing of women from the Indian
subcontinent; notable in Indian states of Rajasthan, Gujarat,
Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Punjab,
Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu, as well as in Hindi
speaking regions of Nepal.
In Punjab it was traditionally worn with the kurti and salwar.
It is a combination of the gagra or lehenga (long skirt) and
the choli. the gagra choli evolved from the three-piece attire
worn by women in ancient India.
The attire consisted of the Antriya lower garment, the
Uttariya veil worn over shoulder or head and Stanapatta a
chestband, which finds mentioned in Sanskrit literature and
Buddhist Pali literature during 6th century B.C.

Pila, pomcha, chundi
