Exam paper is divided into 2 sections
Section A : 4 structured questions (answer all)
Section B : 3 questions (answer TWO only)

Section A (60 marks)


Each question is divided into 2 parts:
1 a (5 marks), 1b (10 marks)
2a (5 marks) , 2b (10 marks)
3a (5 marks) , 3b (10 marks)
4a (5 marks) , 4b (10 marks)
Section B (40 marks)
3 essay questions but only answer TWO.

Each question 20 marks


Suggested time allocation
Section A spend about 20 minutes for each question.
Therefore, for 4 questions spend only 80 minutes

Section A spend 30 minutes for each question.


Therefore for 2 question about 1 hour.
That leaves about 10 minutes for injury time (for you to
re-read and review your answers)

importance of reliable sources, differentiating fact and opinion
Question 3 reading comprehension skills and strategies e.g.
i) types of reading skills use for comprehension such as
skimming, scanning, predicting, making conclusion etc.
ii) reading strategies e.g. SQ4R and KWL

Question 1 : Speaking skills effective presentation skills, the
importance of verbal and non-verbal features in presentations,
issues related to speaking skills
Question 2: writing skills style of writing:
cause and effect, argumentative,
compare and contrast
Question 3 : writing skills e.g. critical and synthesising skills, issues
on plagiarism, incorporation of sources (e.g. writing a report
based on given data in a form of tables, statistics, graphs, pie
charts etc.

relevant prominence and contribution to the discipline
Place of publication (books) to position the publication in the
world
