Introduction

WHAT IS SUSTAINABILITY? WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

Sustainability is the ability to continue a defined behavior indefinitely. It is
very important because it is for social development, economic development
and environmental protection.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
One of the most important type of sustainability is environmental
sustainability. The reason is because we have to protect the environment for
the future generation. Environmental protection is the primary concern of the
future of humanity.
 SUSTAINABILITY DEVELOPMENT
Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the
ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

RENEWABLE ENERGY
One of the ways to sustain the environment is to use renewable energy.
Compared to fossil fuels, fossil fuels can be used up and depleted within
decades. Renewable energy is the energy collected from renewable sources,
which are naturally replenished such as sunlight, wind, rain, etc.

SOLAR ENERGY
One of the type of renewable energy that can be used for environmental
sustainability is solar energy. Solar energy is the energy that is produced
from the sun. There are benefits of using solar energy, in which we will
discuss it later.

Its a definition that if its not renewable, its going to
run out at same point. And we will have the choice of the
collapse of civilization and into the Dark Ages we go, or
we find something renewable.

BENEFITS OF USING SOLAR ENERGY

thermoelectric plants that requires cooling.
The toxic pollution is linked to health problems
like cancer, heart attack, etc.
Solar photovoltaic cells dont rely on water to
generate power, hence it does not pollute water
sources.

Less dangerous gases in the air
Reduces air pollution

Methane and carbon dioxide emissions are

major contributors to global warming.
Greenhouse gases reduce air quality and
increase weather extremes.
Solar power helps to slow global warming. By
slowing down global warming, it ensures the
survival of human society and many species.

HAZARDOUS WASTE
Reducing nuclear waste on Earth
 Reduces hazardous waste

When nuclear is used as a source of energy, the

waste from the nuclear is discharged by burying or
disposing it into the sea.
Nuclear fission products is radioactive for
thousands of years, can have a detrimental effect
on human health and the environment.
As solar energy doesnt use radioactive element like
uranium, the use of nuclear energy can be replaced
and be substituted with solar energy.
Conclusion
Solar energy is the future. It has shown that it can be our
alternative energy source instead of using traditional
energy sources has brought various environmental
problems. Solar energy can be strongly considered as it
brings a lot of benefits.
