This work analyses the aerodynamic characteristics of multi-winglets applied to light aircrafts. This device has demonstrated a potential of improving the aerodynamic efficiency by reducing the induced drag. Experimental investigations were conducted for a wing-body half model with six different multi-winglet configurations. In the tests, a maximum lift to drag ratio improvement of 7.3% was achieved and higher values for high lift regimes, what brought a potential improvement of 12% in
he maximum climb ratio. In addition, wake mappings were executed in order to analyze the flow structures created by the winglets, what led to the conclusion that their main feature is breaking the wing tip vortex in smaller vortices which dissipate faster.
