About Dr Squirrell
Dr Squirrell is a Clinical Psychologist in
private practice in Richmond who
provides affordable psychological
services under Medicare. His therapeutic
style is non-judgmental, insightful and
sufficiently proactive to bring about
change. He offers a professional and
engaging approach to therapy and uses
evidence-based treatments such as
cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT),
clinical hypnotherapy and mindfulness
to treat conditions such as depression,
anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, bipolar
disorder, phobias and OCD. Concerns
such as anger management and low self-
esteem, fear of public speaking and
relationship difficulties are also treated.

Dr Squirrell has a special interest in sex therapy and works with individuals to
manage problematic pornography usage and other compulsive sexual
behaviours, sexual dysfunction (e.g. erectile dysfunction, premature
ejaculation), libido concerns, gender dysphoria, sexual identity and non-
monogamous relationships.
 Fees & Services

Dr Squirrell charges $190 for a 50-minute Psychological Consultation. This fee is

reduced to $65.50 after a Medicare rebate of $124.50. Alternatively, you may wish
to claim the consultation fee under private health cover, WorkCover, TAC if this is
available to you.

A cancellation fee of 50% applies to appointments cancelled within 24 hours

of the appointment. Payment is required at the end of the session. EFTPOS
facilities available.
Medicare Services

In order to receive the Medicare

rebate, patients must obtain a
Mental Health Care Plan from
their G.P. or a referral letter
from their psychiatrist. Patients
are eligible to receive up to 10
focused psychological
treatment sessions per calendar
year (1st January – 31st
December).
Psychological Testing

Dr Squirrell conducts a range of

psychological and medico-legal
assessments. Psychological
assessments are often sought
when a third party wishes to
obtain a formal diagnosis or
report. A report provides you or
your client with an expert
assessment of a client’s current
level of functioning and/or level
of impairment. Dr Squirrell also
provides psychosexual assessment
reports that may be required for
legal proceedings.
