Our objectives:
The nonlinear loads lead to generation of current/voltage harmonics and draw reactive
power and are becoming troublesome problems in ac power lines. We have to use single
phase Shunt Active Power filter for harmonics and reactive power compensation.

Customer Needs Recognition

Introduction
• The choice of our product is to be selected based on the demand of
customers so we use various techniques like Questionnaire,
Conducting Interview, Focus Group Discussion; Analyzing and
Interpretation of results to identify needs and constraints. From this we
prioritize the needs and choose the most suitable approach to develop
a product.

Problem Statement with Requirements and Constraints:-
• In recent years, many power electronics devices are being used widely
in industrial as well as in domestic. It desires to pull sinusoidal
currents but it is no longer the case and with non-linear loads, there is
distortion in current and harmonics is produced. Due to this power
quality decreases. So to succumb this problem, we use Shunt Active
Power filter to compensate harmonics and increase the power quality
of the system. With this filter, we need to reduce the THD to less than
5%.

Evaluation of Team Work :-
Function decomposition:-
• Introduction
Functional decomposition refers broadly to the process of resolving
a functional relationship into its constituent parts in such a way that
the original function can be reconstructed (i.e., recomposed) from
those parts by function composition. In general, this process of
decomposition is undertaken either for the purpose of gaining insight
into the identity of the constituent components (which may reflect
individual physical processes of interest, for example), or for the
purpose of obtaining a compressed representation of the global
function, a task which is feasible only when the constituent processes
possess a certain level of modularity (i.e., independence or non-
interaction).
