Objective
The objective of the project “Fuzzy logic control of PV Cells under the
Peak-Current-Mode Control” is to improve the terminal characteristics of the
photovoltaic(PV) cells and also working region and stability analysis of
photo voltaic cells under peak current mode control.
Abstract
• Effect of the control loop of the interfacing converter on the
characteristics of the photovoltaic (PV) cells systematically under the
peak-current mode(PCM) control.
• First, based on the terminal characteristics of solar cells, the Buck
converter with an additional input capacitor is constructed under the PCM
control and its small signal model of PV power generation system is built
up under the control operating in continuous conduction mode. Then, the
stable working region of PV cells under PCM control is deduced according
to the essential condition of the Hurwitz criterion.
• In addition, the parameters of main circuit and control circuit of the
system are optimally designed.
INTRODUCTION
• WITH crisis of global energy and intensification of environmental
pollution, people are promoted to explore the renewable energy
with higher efficiency for low carbon economy and sustainable
development .
• Solar energy, as a renewable energy, with its environment-
friendliness, high efficiency, and some other unique advantages,
can not only make up the shortage of new energy supplies, but also
dominate energy structure in the future. With the continuous
attention for solar energy, the utilization of solar energy has also
become various, such as heat, electricity, light, etc.
• Meanwhile, photovoltaic (PV) power generation and related
industries develop rapidly, which mainly focus on comprehensive
development and utilization of solar energy.
EXISTING METHOD
• The most important parts of PV generator are PV modules. These modules
are usually built by connecting PV cells in series in order to achieve the
desired output voltage and output power.
• PV cells convert the energy of solar radiation into electricity through the
photoelectric effect.
• In practical, when the PV cells exhibit a different source behavior, not only
the equivalent circuit model and the dynamic characteristics of the input
side, but also steady-state parameters, such as the range of input voltage
and duty ratio limit, have obvious difference.
• There is no denying that the interfacing converter should have the
function of tracking MPP of the PV cells.
• It is known that the peak-current-mode (PCM) has the merits of rapid
response, simple structure, and so on. Therefore, it has become one of the
PV interfacing converter control methods.
