Adolescence occurs

between puberty and


adulthood
Puberty-is a period or
time when a person
become sexually
mature
Boys-12 to 13 years
old
Girls-10 to 11 years
old
 is a transitional stage
of physical and psychological
human development that
generally occurs during the
period from puberty to
legal adulthood (age of
majority
 However, this is not true to
everybody
 Some experience puberty
either ahead or later than
others
 Some have growth spurt
earlier
 Others experience pimples
while others may not
 Influenced by heredity,
nutrition, exercise and
environmental factor
 A person during in puberty
stage undergo significant
changes in health dimensions-
--PHYSICAL, INTELLECTUAL,
EMOTIONAL, SOCIAL AND
MORAL SPIRITUAL
 Changes are normal
 Change is similar and at the
same time unique
 Part of the growth of every
person
 All adolescents undergo
similar changes as they grow
and develop
 Controls the growth and changes
during puberty
 The endocrine glands directs your
growth
 Produces hormones
 This hormones are released into
the bloodstream and travel to
other organs and tissues where
they stimulate growth and
regulate activity
 Affects the growth more
than any other glands
 Regulates the development
of long bones and muscles
in the body
 Releases hormones that
cause your reproductive
glands to become active
 Rapid increase in height and
weight ( boys experience
usually experience later than
girls)
 Changes in circulatory system
and respiratory system ( heart
and lungs grow bigger )
 Body composition-
muscles development,
body fats
 Sudden increase of
hormone production
 Bones become harder
and brittle ( fragile )
Reproductive organs
of both boys and
girls grow and
develop
 Boys release of seminal
fluid or ejaculation from
the penis
 Girls experience
menarche or the first
release of blood and
fluids from the vagina
later called menstruation
 Boys-
 Voice become deeper
 Adam’s apple becomes bigger
 The shoulder’s become wider than the
hips
 Hair grows on the face, body and
pubic area
 Skin on the upper arms and thighs
becomes rough
 Girls
 Breast develop
The hips become wider
than the shoulder
Hair grows on the
underarm and pubic
area
 Understand themselves
better and learn to accept
like themselves including
their weaknesses.
 Try to question what
others say.

bottom of the things
Distinguish house
rules whether it is
absolute or negotiable
in nature.

disadvantages, dangers ,
rewards that might

guidance and respect are

involved with bad
company
