Set Induction
- Pupils watch the trailer of “Finding Nemo” and list all the water creatures that they see in the
video.
Presentation
- Pupils are introduced with the jazz chant lyric by the teacher. Pupils are taught on the
pronunciation and intonation. Pupils chant along with the teacher.
Practice
- Pupils sit according to their classes. In groups, they practise for their own actions to perform
the jazz chant.
- Pupils come forward to perform their jazz chant.
Production
- Each group are given a sea creature.
Year 2
- Pupils are given a template of an animal with some spaces for them to substitute the name of
the animal and their habitat from the original jazz chant.
Year 3
- Pupils create their own jazz chant based on the animal given.
Closure
- Pupils perform their jazz chant that they have practised in their own group .
