INTRODUCTION
HANNAH (2013)
• If schools really do play a large role in
teaching the next generation how to be
successful members of society then every
precaution should be taken to make sure
that the learning environment is one that
helps students thrive.
Busteed & Sorenson (2015)
• Though technology is rapidly
transforming how Americans live and
work, less than half (40%) of U.S. middle
school and high school students report
using computers every day at school.
Amborse (2010)
• The impact of classroom environment
on students and staff can be beneficial for
or a barrier to learning. While some
school was lack in technology and
equipment overpopulated in their
classroom.
Jones (2017)
• Every June, over 21 million elementary
and high school students start a new school
year in the Philippines, and almost 4 million of
them, or 18 percent of the entire student
population, will be forced to attend extremely
overcrowded public schools. In urban areas,
some classes hold over 100 students-well
beyond the Department of Education’s
(DepEd) prescribed 45 students per class.
Statement of the Problem
1. How are the classroom environment in Junior and
Senior High School describe as to:
1.1 comfortability;
1.2 equipment;
1.3 lighting;
1.4 size;
1.5 teaching effectiveness;
1.6 technology; and
1.7 visibility?
2. Is there a significant difference on Classroom
Environment of Junior High and Senior High?
3. What are the implications of the study?

IMPLICATIONS OF THE STUDY

This study aims to describe and compare the
Classroom Environment in Junior and Senior
of Tarlac National High School – San Miguel
Campus.
The study will adopt the Classroom Environment
Scale (CES) as their instrument developed and
validated by Hill et al. (2010). Moreover, the
study will determine the characteristics of the
classroom environment in terms of
comfortability, equipment, lighting, size, teaching
effectiveness, technology and visibility.
• Furthermore, the questionnaire measures
the significant difference in Classroom
Environment between Junior and Senior
High School. Finally, implication of the
study shall be drawn based from the
results.
Research Design

• Descriptive Comparative will be used in this study.

Comparative research essentially compares two
groups in an attempt to draw a conclusion about
them.
• Researchers attempt to identify and analyze
similarities and differences between groups,
and these studies are most often cross-
national, comparing two separate people
groups (Richardson, 2018).
Respondents of the Study

• A total of seven hundred ninety -three (793) grade 10

students from junior high school and three hundred
forty - six (346) grade 12 students from senior high
school are qualified to participate in the study.
Research Instrument
Questionnaire
The researchers will adopt the Classroom
Environment Scale (CES) as the main
instrument for gathering data.
Statistical Treatment

All of the data that will be gathered will be interpreted

through frequency distribution, percentage and rank
distribution. To facilitate the interpretation of the
results the mean was used as measure of central
tendency.
