TCH Drop
The reasons for excess drop due to bad UL quality could be classified as
below –
Interference: Check for co-channel, adjacent channel interference and make
the relevant frequency changes.
Coverage

External Interference
External to GSM system, but operating frequency band, or harmonics falling
within GSM band. Use a spectrum analyser in field to measure and identify
the source.

TCH drop due to Sudden Lost Connection

This can be due to almost all the reasons from TCH drops due to other

TCH BLOCKING= CNRELCONG/TASSALL

CNRELCONG : Number of released connection on SDCCH due to TCH and transcoder

congestion in underlaid and overlaid subcell.
TASSALL : Number of first assignment attempts on TCH for all MS power classes.

 High Utilization of TCH.
 HW issues.

 Solution for TCH Blocking

 Proper dimensioning of half rate tuning parameter for AMR and Nom AMR calls.
 VAMOS need to enabled and properly dimensioned to support Quad Rate.
 Check for current channel configuration, make sure no over dimension of other
channels. (SDCCH/PDTCH).
 E1 Capacity also need to check.
 We can upgrade TRX if Half rate setting already maximum
 If TRX addition not possible, try to share the traffic of that cell with the
neighbouring cell by changing tilt or orientation.
 SDCCH Dynamic Adjustment /TCH Immediate Assignment.
