INTRODUCTION

• This project arises in order to motivate the students during English


learning process, since the interest in learning has decreased due
to the lack of motivation
• Most of the students claimed to have an excellent academic
performance at English learning, so it was necessary to apply a test
in order to determine the English level on the 3rd grade, due to the
results it can be concluded that 3°B English level is significantly
low
PROBLEM STATEMENT
What are the advantages of using songs in the
improvement of English listening skills in 3°B students of
ENSDB
PROJECT JUSTIFICATION

• Songs to improve listening skills in 3°B students of ENSDB occurs


mainly by personal taste, because it’s important to know that
music helps in many aspects, and of course in education.
• the creation of this project is appropriate because it proposes
little use methodologies such as songs to simplify English
learning and motivate the student not to lose interest due to
the difficulty.
GENERAL AIMS

To determine the advantages of using songs in order to improve


English listening skills in 3°B of ENSDB
SPECIFIED AIMS

• To identify student’s flaws on English listening skills


• To describe the aspects that should be taken into account in order to
select the appropriate song
• To emphasize the importance of songs in the improvement of English
listening comprehension skills

Methodology Framework
• Methodology approach: Descriptive design will be used allows
us to gather information in order to obtain accurate data about
the subject matter as well as the ideal investigation proposal

• Paradigm: is the most applicable in the educational field, since it


means an aid to teachers so that they can overcome difficulties
and at the same time helps the students to be unbiased when it
comes to self-evaluation and to realize everything that represents
an obstacle in obtaining their purposes
• Approach: The present project will have a qualitative approach,
as well as some aspects of the quantitative method, since it
includes surveys, questionnaires that will help contribute
scientifically to the present investigation

• Type of research: Investigación-acción it is considered as an


instrument that generates social change and educational
knowledge about the social and / or educational reality. The
present project seeks to generate a change in the way English
classes are taught in school, which is based solely on the
grammatical structure of English and very little on listening
skills.
• Survey techniques:
Surveys for teachers: Carried out in order to gather info about the way
they work, and their methodologies, implementation and resources

Survey for students: Carried out to know how they would like to work
in class, their motivation as well as the difficulties during the English
class

English Assessment grid: To acquire info about difficulties on each


English skills

Sample size: the following investigation was taken 157 students in


total but it will be applied in a cross section of 32 students from 3°B

• Presentation: In this proposal we will work with songs, these


were selected carefully; all have an easy difficulty level because
they are for starter’s students, also are related to the topics that
students normally see in their English classes in order for them
to improve listening
