- Philippine society became
feudalistic as a result of encomienda
system. The Filipinos were treated as
slaves. Due to the colonizers
application of the doctrine of limpieza
de sangre, social ranking was
created in our society.

Spanish language.

saints of the town.

- In Tagalog Region, the 9th night after
the death of the person, playing cards
with or without stakes or the staging
of Duplo were done.
 Celebration was done with much
pomp because a Filipino would not
like to be called kuripot.

even strengthened during the Spanish
time.

 Parents worked hard for the welfare of


their children.

 Children respected their parents and


took care of then in their old age.
 No women worked like a beast or
slave.

 Women are not allowed to mix freely


with men.

 They did not participate in politics,


sports, and the professions.

 They were trained to observe the rigid


rules of social conduct.
