INTRODUCTION

 Supplier Quality Management (SQM) is the catalyst that all complex manufacturers look to in
controlling production costs, reducing variances, and enabling compliance to quality standards.
Faced with these constraints, complex manufacturers turn to Solumina for Supplier Quality
Management expertise in discrete, complex manufacturing. Solumina provides the capability
to query all processes and activities related to product quality and production history in real
time, including supplier status, communications, constraints and history records. Graphs and
reports also provide visibility for inspections, discrepancies, containment actions, corrective
actions, audits, and supplier rating.
 Supplier performance is about more than just a low purchase price:
 The costs of transactions, communication, problem resolution and switching suppliers all
impact overall cost.
 The reliability of supplier delivery, as well as the supplier’s internal policies such as inventory
levels, all impact supply-chain performance.
OBJECTIVES
 Comparison of quality material of different suppliers.
 Quality of mid day meal maintained at akshaya patra.
 A study on Akshaya patra milestone food saftey & quality
control.

INTERPRETATION
 The study showed that comparitively 80 % of the quality product production
is measured on the performance of supplier.
 Conducting supplier material audit are very common practices for
production among the market. This is most cases involvement frequent
visits to the supplier premises and evaluating the operational procedure
followed.
 Supplier 1 fullfilled all the mandatory requirement to provide better quality
of material.
 The study also find out the supplier integration was a common practice
among all the required criteria.
FINDING
 Measure and Track the Cost of Poor Supplier Quality.
 Align Supplier Risk Management with Quality Audits.
 Rationalize Suppliers for Better Quality Control.
 Gain Better Visibility into Supplier Quality with Technology
 Better Performance through Better Supplier Relationships
CONCLUSION
 Early identification of errors should be encouraged through pre-dispatch inspections so that
disappointments are reduced at the customers‟ end.
 The supermarkets should also decentralize their management structures so that decisions can
be made faster and accurately.
 Supplier should be encouraged to conform to product specifications so that customers get
what they want at the right time.
 Senior level management in both the supermarkets and supplier organizations should be fully
involved in the supplier quality management so that the whole exercise is not frustrated.
