tiles, or even woods.
 However, manually using an angle grinder is
prone to human error which can lead to
inaccurate cuts and imprecise results.
The general problem of this study is “How to
make straight accurate cuts with an angle
grinder using the Cutter Slider Support?”

Specifically, this research study tried to answer


the following questions:

1. What mechanical design is needed in Cutter


Slider Support?
2. How to fabricate this cutter slider support?
3. Will the fabricated slider support become
acceptable to the end users in terms of:
3.1 Functionality;
3.2 Reliability;
3.3 Efficiency and Effectiveness;
3.4 Maintenance and cost;
3.5 Safety; and
3.6 Accuracy?

 The study was centered in providing a sliding
support for angle grinders, to speed up the
cutting process, prevent accident, and
minimize human errors which can lead to
inaccurate results. The output of this study
was used to cut tiles, metals, and wood.
The feature of this study introduced a Cutter
Slider Support with the following limitations:
 The angle grinder must only be a 4inches grinder
 Only straight-line cutting is supported
 The maximum cutting capacity is 60 centimeters
 The maximum thickness of the material to be
cut is 12 millimeters
 The minimum width of the material to be cut is
15 centimeters
 The material being cut can only be inclined to an
angle of 90° and 45°

Strengths
•The Cutter Slider Support served its intended purpose specifically on making straight and accurate cuts with an angle grinder up to its.

1. The Cutter Slider Support served its intended

accurate cuts with an angle grinder up to its
maximum capacity of 60 centimeters.

2. Most parts of the Cutter Slider Support are fastened


by bolts and screws. Therefore, the assembly,
disassembly, maintenance, and replacement of
worn out parts are convenient to the end user.
1. There is no clearance between the material to be cut
and the cutting disc when the angle grinder is
lowered from its initial position on the Cutter Slider
Support.

2. The maximum depth that can be cut by the angle


grinder is reduced when it is attached to the Cutter
Slider Support.

3. The material to be cut cannot be clamped when its


width become less than 15 centimeters.
1. The length of the square tube was not enough to give
a clearance to cutting disc and the material to be cut
when the angle grinder is lowered from its initial
position on the Cutter Slider Support.
2. The grinder holder is located below the angle grinder;
therefore, it will make contact to the material being
cut before the cutting disc reach its maximum cutting
depth.
3. The clamp is located in the middle part of the platform
and has a limited movement and reach; therefore,it
cannot hold a material if the width is shorter than 15
centimeters.
1. It is recommended to use a longer square tube
so that the cutting disc can have an allowance
when it is lowered before making contact to the
material in the platform.
2. It is recommended to redesign the grinder
holder in such a way that it can utilize the angle
grinder’s maximum cutting depth.
3. It is recommended to move the slot of the clamp
closer to the grinder side of the platform so that
it can hold even shorter width materials.
