SELECTION & RECRUITMENT

The entire Recruitment process was completed in 03 months.(Feb’14-May’14).

Deferred joining was permitted to serve notice period and thesis completion.

ORIENTATION AND TRAINING

No Structured Induction or Training program was organized upon recruitment to


familiarize with BITS functions and responsibilities to be handled.

Departmental support was helpful in gaining insights about existing functionalities .

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

For Non-Teaching Staff ,currently there is no Year on Year Joint Goal Setting,
Continuous Progress Review, Feedback and Coaching for improved
performance, Implementation of Employee Development Programmes and
Rewards for outstanding achievements.

Absence of Evaluation systems of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for


compensation and rewards, absence of incentives for publishing
developmental work at conferences are denting employee motivation to set
aggressive and ambitious goals.

CAREER GROWTH AND PROGRESSION

Career Progression with respect to designations is narrow for library staff


because of the limited number of posts available (Librarian, Deputy Librarian,
and Assistant Librarian).

Personal growth through Certifications and other mediums of education are


thoroughly encouraged by immediate superiors. There is complete freedom and
support to take up new initiatives and implement developmental programs while
at work.
