Why does Uranium have

to go through Ion
Exchange process ?

1 Uranium ores are not easily concentrated by ore-

dressing methods

2 For the low grade ore had to be treated by leaching

Acid & Alkaline leaching may be used, but Acid

SWELLING

A decrease in sorption as the temperature

increases is likely related to a decrease in the
swellability of ion exchangers

CONCLUSION
The leaching method that we use for Uranium recovery is In Situ Leaching

An increase temperature will be decrease the sorption capacity, swellability and

selectivity of ion exchange.

The reaction is easier at high temperature
