Haymarket media group was founded by Michael Hessletine and Clive
Labovitich.It is a private media company which has their headquarters in London.
It has publications in the consumer, business and customer sectors, both print
and online. It used to publish on behalf of the BBC however since 1999 its has
expanded further afield from the UK to the rest of the world
Advertisers
Haymarket advertise the products through,TV,Radio,Youtube adverts,social media,In their own
magazines,on their own website and the media products website.Four Four Two magazines have small
subscription leaflets in their own magazine so that their readers can subscribe to get a magazine delivered
to their door each month.The leaflet can be sent straight to the magazines headquarters and from then on
you will have subscribed to the magazine.Haymarket would advertise Four Four Two on sports TV
channels to meet their audience as if they watch sport they will be more likely to buy Four Four Two as it
relates to them.Once again Radio advertisement will be used to fit the products to the right station an
example would be if haymarket advertised four four two on Talksport to reach the audience it pursues.As
technology is forever advancing haymarket have also changed with the times as they advertise on social
media they even have their own twitter page,a linkedin page and an instagram account, where they
advertise the services they offer and the media products they own.Advertising on social media enables the
media group to meet a younger audience to pursue and persuade to buy one of their products.Youtube
advertisements are strong way of meeting the younger audience as they watch youtubers,some youtubers
have millions of people watching their videos at once allowing millions of people to see their advert.
Distribution
Haymarket distribute their media products through many ways,they own magazines
in many genres ranging from sport to nutrition to cars.As the media group owns so
many media products it shows the audience how keen they’re to satisfy their
customers with different types of products.Haymarket give the audience a feeling
of being listened to and that they’re hay markets first priority as the media groups
website says “Nothing's good enough at Haymarket, until our audiences and clients
say so.We're hard-wired to produce brilliant content for our readers and
users.”Haymarket strive to give their audience detailed content to make the
audience feel it is worthy enough to continue buying the next issue of the particular
medias product for example Four Four Two or Medical Bag.
Marketing/Promotion
Haymarket help their media products market themselves and encourage the
formation of new partnerships for example Haymarket has allowed the newly
formed partnership between Four Four Two and Dailymotion.Haymarkets website
talks about the partnership “ The announcement is part of a broader digital strategy
by FourFourTwo to bring its football expertise and compelling online videos to
audiences no matter where they choose to experience them.”Haymarket has also
developed the magazine “goal” as a smaller separate publication to Four Four TWo
and is targeted for children aged between 7 and 11 years old.The new magazines
promotes football to younger generations and also promotes four four two as it
takes into account the smaller much younger football fanbase rather than focusing
on the maturer/older football fanatics.
Production Process
Freelancers are sent out to gather knowledge a factors about certain news stories
the magazine wants to cover,the freelancers are photographers,copywriters and
journalists(the interviewer) who gather the information for the topic being
discussed.If the magazine was Four Four Two they would get a photograph of the
footballer they want to have on their front cover and that will be the main topic of
that particular issue.Then the journalists write an article about the topic after
gathering all the knowledge and characteristics they had researched and found
out.After the piece is written then a sub-editor reads it and all the different aspects
it is accompanied by,for example checking for grammatical errors or inappropriate
photographs.Finally the Editor will have one last look over the news article to
decide whether it has enough quality and informative information for the reader.

Autosport,Autocar,F1 racing and PistonHeads.These media products are all
sports based however haymarket do produce a nutritional and a health
based magazine “Fruit Focus” and “Medical Bag” Four Four Two is
arguably the most recognised product Haymarket own the product is
published in 17 nations and written in 9 different languages widening its
appeal to many different cultures and audiences all over the world.
Readership
The print daily readership of adults for the magazine Four Four Two is 3,417,000
which is a vast amount considering its a monthly magazine(1 issue a month) and its
PC monthly readership is 3,592,000 adults.In April 2014 Haymarket recorded pre
tax profits of £11.1 million which was an improvement from the previous loss of £7.6
million.

Four Four Two circulation is at 96,215 and that is a decrease of 2.9% possibly
showing that less people are reading the magazine or that they are focusing the
distribution of magazines to the higher proportion of place where it is being
read.Similarly,What Car? Has a circulation of 77,003 thats -11.8% and Classic &
Sports Car circulation is 72,169 that’s a -1.3%
