Definition:
Service delivery systems are responsible for
providing health Service for Patients,
persons, families, community and population
in general and not only care for patients.
Example:
Specialized health services consist of
anesthesia, dermatology, urology, psychiatry,
oncology cardiology and nephrology.
Basic Health Care Services
 It include in and out of area emergency
services.
 In patient hospital and physician care.
 Out patient medical services.
 Preventive health services.
Importance:
 It is important to the society because
people get ill accidents and emergencies
do arise and the hospitals are needed to
diagnose, treat and manage different types
of aliments and disease.
 Reducing unnecessary disability.

Definition:
It is a systematic way to improve and account for
public health action by involving procedures that
are useful, feasible, ethical and accurate.
Steps:

 Establish standards and criteria
 Plante methodology to be applied

 Analyze the results

 It relates to the appropriateness of the
service.
Example:
Vaccination against small pox is now
irrelevant because the disease no longer
exists.
Adequacy:
It implies sufficient attention has been paid to
previously determined course of action.
Accessibility:
It is proportion of the given population that
can be expected to use specified facility
services.
Acceptability:
 It provide may be accessible but not
acceptable to all.

Reduction in morbidity and mortality rates.
Efficiency:
It measure of how well resources are
utilized to achieve a given effectiveness.
