Help Health Philippines is the initiative of the Dutch-German Immigrant Horst Heveling and his wife Flora.

The domicile is in Calapan City, the provincial capital of Oriental Mindoro, in the island Mindoro. The idea began in late 2008, after Horst saw the poor conditions at a fundraiser. Since then, the Help Health Team has grown, and the successes are increasing. Motivated by that, in early 2011 it was decided to register the Help Health Foundation in the US because this is much less complicated than in the Philippines. Since March 2011 the Help Health Foundation is allowed to lead the symbol " ", which confirms a higher legal status in the U.S. Currently there is a fund-raising running to get the money for full registration. The initiative Help Health Philippines will remain under this name and is now running under the Help Health Foundation . In July 2011 it was decided to register the "Help Health Deutschland" association in Germany. The two communities of San Teodoro and Baco both in Oriental Mindoro have been chosen as a test run. If we manage to bring the local health system and the education system up to a better run than it is now, we are looking forward to expanding it to other communities even beyond the Philippines. In our Concept, you can learn more about what we do.

Our concept
1. Support of the Communal Health Centers The Philippines have local health centers in each small town. The government strategically places them in areas with no hospitals nearby. They serve as a mini-hospital to those in need of medications for minor illnesses like cough and colds. They also provide a venue for the government to give regular vaccinations for children against measles, polio, hepatitis, etc. However, not enough funds are readily available to supply these health centers with emergency medical equipment and medication to arrest the worsening of critical illnesses like diarrhea and pneumonia in children. There is even a shortage of medical personnel able to attend to kids having the seasonal flu. Thus, a simple case of colds can turn fatal in a matter of hours simply because of the lack of proper medical care. Help-Health wants to assist these health centers secure a better set of medical equipment and an even wider array of medication.

2. Financing of small Surgeries These health centers do not have the technology to perform complicated surgeries. They often have to refer poor patients to major hospitals in the city. Now the problem comes when these families do not even have the penny to get to the city. How much more pay for a surgery? Again, we, at Help-Health try to help the most critical cases as much as we can.

3. Clothes, pens, paper, slippers, etc. Just like most non-profit organizations, we appreciate ANY amount of help we can get these little ones for home or school. Any form of assistance is greatly appreciated. The joy in their faces is simply priceless .
