India ranks tenth in terms of pesticide consumption in the world. India needs to increase its vegetable production while at the same time reduce the use, and in particular misuse, of pesticides. Pesticides have made a great impact on human health, production and preservation of foods, fibre and other cash crops ,leading to incredible possibility that hunger can be vanished from the earth and also large scale Unscrupulous use of pesticides in intensive agriculture has led to many problems like health hazards, pollution of environment, adverse effect on non-target organism, insecticide resistance in insects.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Type of study: Descriptive Data source: Farmer Type of data: Primary data is collected from farmers. Secondary data is collected from available literature. Sample Design: Purposive method of sample selection is used.
Sampling unit: Farmers Sample size: 10 Farmers Area profile: Karnataka

Tools of data collection: Questionnaires (10 closed ended for each sample unit) and personal meetings.

CONCLUSION
Attributes like awareness, eco-friendly, health aspect play major role in case of farmers attitude for pesticide use in agreement/belief segment i.e. customer believes that all these attributes should be there in any pesticide product leading a positive response. Attributes like awareness, brand & effectiveness play major role in case of farmers attitude for pesticide uses in desirability segment i.e. customer wants to see all these attributes in his ideal pesticide products that will lead to a positive attitude of the farmer

Average score per attribute (taking 100 farmers for study) was calculated as 1.6[which falls in AGREE category of 7 point Likert Scale used] that shows an overall positive sign towards pesticide use in vegetable fields within farmers of Karnataka state. From the above research, it can be clearly inferred that farmers of Karnataka posses a high level of positive attitude towards pesticide use in the field for better protection of crop.
