Circuit Details

• The circuit consists of two single stage CE transistor

amplifiers.

• Input capacitor Cin couples the input AC signal to the base

of the first stage.

• Capacitor CC couples the output of the first stage to the

input of the second stage (It transmits a.c. signal but
blocks d.c.).
• Resistors R1,R2 and RE provide biasing and stabilization.

• Emitter bypass capacitor CE offers low reactance path to

the a.c. signal.
EE-305.68 7
Operation
• The input signal V in is amplified by T1

• The amplified out put of T1 appears across Rc1.

• The amplified signal developed across RC1 is given to

base of next stage through coupling capacitor CC.

• The second stage further amplifies the signal.

• The output across RC2 is coupled by Cc to the load.

• The input signal is amplified twice

• Overall gain is increased.

EE-305.68 8
Phase of the output
• The phase of the output is same as that of input because
the phase is reversed twice (180o+180o ) by two
transistors as they are in CE configuration.
