Part 4 Gods Favor

 A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Mal.1:6

 Honor is the weight or addition of substance and significance. When we honor something we ADD weight(value) to it. We see from Malachi that honor is very important to God. It s a CORE value in the kingdom.

 Core values of the KINGDOM!

1. Honor
Also today the LORD has proclaimed you to be His special people, just as He promised you, that you should keep all His commandments, 19 and that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to the LORD your God, just as He has spoken. Deut.26:18-19

 Being HOLY just means you are us-able, bless-able, it means set apart. As we seek the Lord, we are being set apart for HIM! By HIM! And TO HIM! Lets look at Hannah and how this worked in her life

 Hannah was barren: 1 Sam.1:5 The areas of your struggle and barreness are Gods entry point for your life Her enemy tried to use her plight for his end: 1 Sam.1:6 The greatest provocation came from worship: v.7

 Your circumstance, no matter how painful, is your place of FAVOR! 9-18 The nation was in dire straits: No prophetic word, no Godly leadership, no heart God answers like He often doesa baby! So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel 1 Sam.1:20

 The future of Israel was carried on the burden of Hannah. She wanted a son, God needed a leader. She got what she wanted and God got what He wanted! Her name means women of grace As she promised she gave him back to the Lord: 24-28

 And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile the child Samuel grew before the LORD. 1 Sam.2:21 Whenever the Lord visits, He always brings honor with Him. He ALWAYS adds something of weight or significance to you.

 God is all about ADDING to you significance. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 11 For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you. 12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, And if you scoff, you will bear it alone. Pr.9:10-12

 Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom(Kings domain) of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. It is called the FAVOR of GOD!

 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield. Psalm 5:12 Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the LORD; Pr.8:34-35

 1 Samuel 2:26 And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favor both with the LORD and men. Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. Ps.30:4-5

 Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the LORD; 36 But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death. Pr.8

 How do you WRONG your own soul? If honor is additionGods adding signifigance to your lifedishonor is SUBTRACTION The removal of significance to the point of loss and emptiness. Hannah found her significance and God added 5 more children

 Therefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD, for men abhorred the offering of the LORD. 1 Sam 2:21 These men dishonored God and He esteemed them lightly, withdrew His hand and they died at the hands of the enemy

 Therefore the LORD God of Israel says: I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever. But now the LORD says: Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed. 1 Sam.2:30
