Indonesia is home to the largest Muslim communities in the world. Although 88% of its population are Muslims, Indonesia is not an Islamic state. Indonesian Muslims are well-known for their moderation and being tolerant.

What is LIBERAL ISLAMIC ? Liberal Islam, one group that rejects the deal flow of scholars and interpret the Quran and the Hadith, according to the understanding mind.

However, what they thought did not conform to correct the Quran and Sunnah. Interpretation and explanation filled with confusion and may undermine the beliefs of the Muslims.

 In Indonesia, the spread of liberal Islam has been going on since the early 1970's, with his figure Nurcholish Madjid (Cak Nur).  Cak Nur not known as Liberal Muslim but it base the development of liberal Islam today.

 Since 2001, the number of young Muslim activists and intellectuals start spread of liberal ideas in a more organized Islam. They later founded the Liberal Islam Network.

They are seen as the spirit of 'criticize' the Qur'an rejecting some nash-Hadeeth Saheeh Hadeeth accuse the scholars of the conservative group. Muslim children "learned" it also looks very enthusiastic talking, discussing, organizing seminars, workshops to discuss the themes of democracy, freedom of expression, scularism, pluralism, and gender equality.

Sayid Ahmad Khand, Arkeun, Ali Abdul Razik, CharlesKuzman, Fatimah Marnissi, Nasir Hamid Abu Zaid and Fadzlurrahman as though "holy book" is the new stick in the young people brains. At the same time, they began to seem lazy to study the Qur'an, but can be fed-up to hear the evidence from the hadith. Apparently, they really believe themselves to identity, and so called liberal pride.
